The talk describes the work in progress within Workpackage 2 "analysis of properties of protocols for high speed networks supporting multimedia applications" of the project COPERNICUS 62. The part that is addressed in this talk concerns the problem of incorpating into the protocol development process some early performance estimations of an implied protocol implementation.
